MWADO supports pastoralist and vulnerable communities to adapt to climate change by enhancing food security, promoting sustainable livelihood initiatives, and empowering women and youth economically. Through micro-grants, capacity building, and resilience-focused projects, the organization helps households reduce vulnerability and build long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MWADO<\/strong> has been at the forefront of community empowerment in Marsabit, through strategic partnerships and innovative initiatives. In collaboration with Oxfam<\/strong>, MWADO<\/strong> implemented the GFFO<\/strong> project in 2023, providing vital support to 35 local groups. This initiative enhanced community resilience and promoted sustainable development across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023\/2024, we introduced a pioneering approach known as Supporting\/Survivor Community led response (SCLR)<\/strong>, which supported 5 community groups. This innovative strategy aimed to amplify survivor voices and tailor support services to their specific needs, marking a significant step forward in humanitarian efforts within Marsabit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five groups supported under SCLR are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Dokatu Environmental Group<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Orabula Group<\/li>\n\n\n\n
